This is a summary of what they found out about - POLAND (See Enclosure 2 or [download])
- OTHER COUNTRIES (See Enclosure 3 or [download])

JANUARY 2005: STAGE 4. WORKING TOGETHER BY CONDUCTING A SMALL SURVEY: TRANSLATION OF THE QUESTIONNAIRE FROM ENGLISH INTO NATIVE LANGUAGE.
The theme for the year 2004-2005 is sustainable development, energy for tomorrow :
"Sustainable development meets the needs of the present generation without compromising
the ability of future generations to meet their own needs ". The notion of sustainable
development covers three fields: social concerns, environmental issues and economic
considerations. The social aspect includes poverty: for instance the fact that a billion
people in the world have little or no income and suffer from hunger, malnutrition, poor
health and a lack of access to education. Environmental issues include, for example, the
regulation of the production of energy which pollute the air with their exhaust gases.
Economic considerations are important in the management of non renewable natural resources,
such as gas, oil and uranium.
The students had been given a short questionnaire concerning environmental, economics and sustainable development and translated it from English into Polish with a view to conducting a survey in our country.
