INTRODUCTION

From October 2004 till April 2005 we were involved in an e-mailing project with a secondary comprehensive school from Toholampi in Finland. Students were encouraged by their teacher Mrs Jussi Ahonen to exchange e-mails with their peers from Poland. The programme covered the following topics: my interests and family, school and education system, hometown, sports, culture, customs and traditions. We were also supposed to find similarities and differences between our life-styles, writing about things we share.

In early December a group of pupils from a secondary economic school from Hamburg, Germany joined our project. Mr Michael Behncke, their teacher, was a co-ordinator of this undertaking. Besides e-mails we also exchanged photos of our groups and municipality.
