THE BEGINNING
OF OUR PARTNERSHIP
On 30th March 2003 our school was listed among other schools
looking for partners to make an exchange with peers in Europe.
Thus, it belongs to the EUROPEAN NETWORK which comprises 4,
800 European schools including 500 in Poland. This association
is represented in Poland by INTERKLASA.
Being a part of European Network allows us to
display our website and activity in the Showcase of EUROSCHOLA.
For example, on behalf of our school the European Club took
part in the activities offered by Euroschola by organising the
Debate For and Against Polish Accession to the UE on Spring
Day in our school. Later Mrs Mironska, the club co-ordinator,
drew up the report of this debate in an English version, which
was the basis for obtaining a certificate from the European
Commission in June 2003, confirming our participation in this
international project.
Besides, it gave us an opportunity to come into
contact with European schools from France, Sweden and Italy.
FOREIGN PARTNERS
The exchange of correspondence between Mrs Mironska
and French teachers resulted in the involvement of our school
in the European project : “INTERNATIONAL VIRTUAL SCHOOL”
(See the link VIRTUAL CLASS on the school website).
The co-operation with Swedish and Italian partners
is developed within the European Club.
The members of European School Club make presentations, mainly
in English, about Sweden: its geography, history, education,
culture, famous cities and people, whereas the pupils of International
Secondary School from Sweden do projects about our country:
its culture and economy. The whole project lasts 3 years and
is supervised by the teacher of Polish background, Mr. B. Wolski.
Two best students, i.e. those who obtained the highest score,
are rewarded with a trip to a country about which they were
doing projects. (Very challenging and motivating, but this is
a private school!).
Besides, Polish and Swedish pupils exchange opinions on the
topics raised in their projects and presentations, obviously
in English.
The programme “E-MAILING IN ENGLISH WITH
FOREIGN PARTNERS” is also carried out with the Italian
school. The club members and Italian peers from Secondary Medical
School exchange e-mails about their hobbies, favourite pastime,
school, hometown, Christmas traditions, culture and customs.
The results of this co-operation are presented
on the club website and the exposition next to the school library(display
panels, posters and charts) .
