SPRING DAY CELEBRATIONS
IN OUR SCHOOL

We are members of the European Club existing at Secondary Comprehensive School No 1 in Mielec.
Following the tradition of Spring Day 2003, we decided to join it also in this year (2004).
As our club activity is aimed at enriching our knowledge about European countries and co-operation with European peers, we chose two projects:
DISCOVER EUROPE
First of all, we made the mini-guide of our region, showing the tourist attractions of Mielec and its surrounding.
TOGETHER IN EUROPE
On 11th March we submitted our contribution to Partner Finding Forum, entitled: SPRING DAY CUSTOMS, presenting the traditions observed in our country, and asking others to share their ideas about Spring celebrations. Unfortunately, we weren’t able to establish a contact with a school from the EU country as you had suggested, because none was interested.
90% of all schools eager to make a contact was from Romania, Poland, Turkey and Lithuania. We exchanged e-mails with a school from Ryga, Latvia.
On 23rd March we sent e-mails to European peers, answering their questions presented in the Forum.

Besides, we made a big display panel depicting the tourist attractions and characteristics of Sweden because we are co-operating with the Swedish pupils.
Another initiative was adorning the walls of our club with the captions:”WELCOME SPRING DAY IN EUROPE” in Swedish, Italian, French and other languages.
